Boxes and Packaging agree deal at Thorne Park, Doncaster

A corrugated packaging manufacturer is expanding its Doncaster portfolio with the lease of a new logistics centre at Thorne Park, just minutes’ drive from its existing manufacturing facility.

Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) Ltd, which have been based at its current site for almost 40 years, have leased the 52,160 sq.ft unit at Thorne Park on a 10 year lease, on completion of landlord works due at the end of September 2015. The unit comprises a modern industrial/warehouse unit of steel portal frame construction.

The company supply a range of customers with the design and manufacture of corrugated packaging solutions and in-house printing, along with ancillary packaging products. It is part of a UK network with 12 further manufacturing operations in the Boxes and Packaging group including Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.

A joint venture development by Henry Boot Developments, Thorne Park is situated at Junction 6 on the M18 and offers unrivalled access to the motorway & railway networks. Boxes and Packaging will join the new Marston’s public house “The King’s Chamber” just one of the businesses planned for the park.

Tim Burn, Project Manager for Henry Boot Developments Ltd, said “We are excited that Boxes and Packaging are to expand its Doncaster operations to the newly refurbished industrial unit at Thorne Park. We aim to offer the highest quality operational accommodation and we believe Thorne Park provides this. There is already significant interest in the other new units, which are due for completion in September.

It will allow us to increase our production capabilities, enjoy increased logistical efficiencies and drive further growth for our company and for the local economy.

Henry Boot Developments secured a £6.45 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to enable the delivery of the final phase of Thorne Park. The site has available over 150,000 sq.ft of prime new build/industrial and warehouse accommodation in unit sizes from 3550 sq ft to 38000 sq ft due for completion in Autumn 2015.
